Christopher Bill
Christopher Bill is known as the most subscribed brass musician on YouTube. He’s a trombonist, arranger, and marketing consultant based between Los Angeles and NYC.
Christopher’s all-trombone YouTube arrangements gained wide attention in 2014 after his looping-station cover of Pharrell Williams’ “Happy” went viral. His videos have earned more than 85 million views and over half a million followers across YouTube and TikTok. He independently released the electro-acoustic pop album Half Man, Half Machine in 2017 and has served as Youth Workshop Director of the International Trombone Festival and marketing consultant for the International Trombone Association.
A pianist since age 6 and trombonist since age 10, Christopher has composed and arranged since age 12. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Classical Trombone Performance from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Weston Sprott, Denson Paul-Pollard, John Fedchock, and Timothy Albright.
He maintains an active schedule of performances, clinics, masterclasses, and weekly YouTube videos, and has appeared at the American Trombone Workshop, Midwest Clinic, TMEA, NAMM Show, International Trombone Festival, and Ogden Trombone Choir’s Trombone Rendezvous.
Dr. Shannon Roberts
Dr. Shannon Roberts is a composer, arranger, conductor, author, clinician, and music educator. He directs music at Judge Memorial Catholic High School and previously served as Director of Bands at Weber State University.
He holds music composition degrees from the University of Utah and has performed professionally on trombone, euphonium, trumpet, and tuba.
Dr. Anthony Mazzaferro
Dr. Anthony Mazzaferro is a tuba performer, conductor, clinician, adjudicator, and music educator with more than forty years of teaching experience, including twenty-nine years at Fullerton College. He holds degrees from San Francisco State University, Northwestern University, and Arizona State University. Dr. Mazzaferro has performed with numerous California orchestras and wind ensembles and has guest conducted honor bands and orchestras throughout the United States, Canada, Singapore, and New Zealand, including four California All-State Honor Bands. He continues to conduct, adjudicate, and perform with Utah ensembles including Salt Lake Symphonic Winds, Ogden Concert Band, and American Festival Orchestra.
Dr. Mark Ammons
Dr. Mark Ammons, Assistant Director of the BYU School of Music and Director of BYU Musicians’ Institute and SummerFestival, holds degrees in trombone performance from Brigham Young University and the University of Southern California.
Before BYU, Dr. Ammons served as Music Department Chair and Acting Dean of Fine Arts at Snow College and taught in Missouri, Illinois, and California. At BYU he teaches Commercial Music and general education courses, directs the BYU Jazz Ensemble, and coaches jazz combo.
A professional trombonist, singer, and actor, Dr. Ammons has performed with the Utah Symphony, Ballet West Orchestra, Orchestra at Temple Square, Utah Premiere Brass, Utah Trombone Authority, and numerous jazz and recording ensembles, and has appeared as a featured soloist across the United States and Europe.
Dr. Robert Cardon-Wake
Dr. Robert Cardon-Wake is a trombonist and educator from Henderson, Tennessee, and a recent graduate of Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music, where he served as Associate Instructor of Trombone and Assistant Director of the IU Trombone Choir.
Robert has premiered more than 30 new works for trombone, including performances in Seoul, South Korea. He has performed with the Colorado Trombone Quartet, West End Brass Quintet, Orchestra Indiana, Parker Symphony Orchestra, and American Festival Chorus and Orchestra.
Dedicated to music education, Robert tutors students through the University of Denver’s Learning Effectiveness Program. His honors include the Brass Ring Award, Levy Innovation Award, Clara Rosen Award, and Potter Opportunity Award. He earned degrees from Indiana University, the University of Denver, and Vanderbilt University.
